Opportunities to Serve

Serving the Lord is the ultimate way to some gratitude, thankfulness, and show your love for Your Lord. We the faithful Catholics in Desoto Parish believe that serving can be done anywhere, anytime, and in ways both big or small. Try it and see the impact you can make of others!

Serve the Church

There are numorous ways to serve others just inside the walss of our Parishes Churches. We can alwayd use Altar Servers, Lectors, Ushers, Money Gathers, or Choir Members. What an even bigger impact consider joining one of our many groups or committees. Each of us has a talent and we need yours. Men's Club, Altar Society, Men's Manna, or Rosary Groups are all opportunites that would glady benefit by you.

Serve the City

Serving God doesn't have to involve being a missionary to far away places it can happen each and everytime you encounter others. We strive to do as much as possible to effert change in our local Communities. Annually we gather food for the needy at Thanksgiving, contribute to Toys for Tots, Angel Trees, and conduct "St Joseph Men's Manna" to provide meals to the elderly and shutins.

What we need to keep this going is YOU. Contact the church office to see how you can impact others in big ways or small ones.

Serve the World

In Luke 9:23, Jesus said "If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me." We understand that this to the letter isn't practical for every follower of Jesus but also understand that we as members of the Universal Church can impact the far corners of the planet. We often donate money through the Diocese to execute missions in other countries, to train Priests in other countires, and welcome Catholics followers from other countries to visit us and then take the things they see here back to there local communities to execute that command Jesus gave in Luke.

The Catholic Church feeds more people, teaches more people, gives to more people, cares for more people, and heals more people that any other organization on the planet. Numerous churches, schools, or local communties are supported by the generosity of the Catholci Church. Evan something as simple as praying for others allows you to assist carrying out the call given so long ago in the Gospel of Luke
